Tourism and DMO leader Scott Beck has gained a new role at JLL, a professional services and destination development organization, as lead of sustainable and resilient communities.
JLL said in a press release that Beck’s experience with analyzing tourism trends, defining the impact of destination sales and marketing, advocating for venue optimization and leading initiatives like DestinationNext will help him succeed in this new role.
“Scott Beck’s talent for combining creative data-driven insights with practical strategies aligns seamlessly with our mission at JLL,” said Dan Fenton, leader of JLL’s Global Tourism & Destination Advisory Group. “His experience in optimizing revenue management, enhancing feasibility practices and utilizing research to develop resilient and sustainable plans for destinations reflects the innovative approaches we prioritize. We are excited to welcome him to our team and enhance our ability to provide cutting-edge solutions for our clients.”
Beck also celebrated the appointment on his LinkedIn page, saying in his own press release that he is excited to be able to keep learning in the tourism industry and hopes to continue growing its impact.
“I am thrilled to embark on this new journey with the JLL Global Tourism & Destination Advisory Group,” Beck said in his personal press release. “Having admired Dan and his team’s groundbreaking work for years, I’m honored to bring my experience and enthusiasm to this remarkable group. I appreciate how this group defines itself as not being a theory firm, and how they commit to implementable yet future looking strategies to transform communities and destinations around the world.”
Beck abruptly resigned from his position as the president and CEO of San Francisco Travel in May 2024, where he was replaced by Anna Marie Presutti in September.
