The Event Service Professionals Association (ESPA) elected Eric L. Logan as its new president at its annual conference in Louisville, Kentucky that took place January 31-February 2. Logan’s appointment also marks the end of Dominique Bonds’ term as president of the organization following her election in January 2024.
Logan currently serves as the destination and sports tourism event services manager at the Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau and brings extensive experience and a forward-thinking approach to his new role. His main objectives as president of ESPA will include increasing revenue streams, promoting the organization’s educational opportunities, introducing new initiatives to better serve the association’s members and increasing ESPA’s outreach to hospitality students.
“As ESPA president, my vision is the continuation of a collaborative environment where our members from diverse backgrounds can access valuable resources on event services, network effectively and actively contribute to advancing our programs and promoting positive change within our industry, ultimately shaping a future that benefits all members,” Logan said in a press release.
Logan’s qualifications also include earning the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification in 2012 and being recognized with the Sustained Excellence in Performance Award from the City of Virginia Beach. He has also received numerous departmental awards for his contributions to both internal and external clients.
ESPA also welcomed two new board members to its board of directors, including Christy Ball, Crowne meetings director at the Crowne Plaza Resort Asheville, and Erin Oubre, event manager at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
