Matthew Pivarnik Named President and CEO of Myrtle Beach Area Chamber and CVB

Matt Pivarnik

Matthew “Matt” Pivarnik has been appointed as the new president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC). Pivarnik brings over 30 years of experience to the role and will assume the position in mid-May following a relocation to the Myrtle Beach area.

“I’m honored to join the team at the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber and bring my experience to this thriving community,” Pivarnik said in a press release. “The Grand Strand is a dynamic, world-class place to live and visit, and this is an exciting time in its evolution.”

Pivarnik’s previous leadership experience includes serving at the helm of the Greater Topeka Partnership in Kansas, which he helped form back in 2018 as part of an effort to unify regional efforts to the area’s revitalization. In that position, he oversaw operations of the Greater Topeka Chamber, Visit Topeka, Downtown Topeka Inc. and GO Topeka and helped the capital city metro experience a $2 billion increase in GDP.

Pivarnik was chosen for this new role by a 10-person executive search committee which included many notable leaders from across the Grand Strand, including prominent Myrtle Beach business leaders and Mayor Brenda Bethune.

“Matt’s experience in chamber leadership and community building have been instrumental in enhancing metro regions similar to ours,” Mayor Bethune said in a press release. “He has a proven ability for infusing organizations and communities with positive energy, fostering unity and driving strategic initiatives, perfectly aligning with our vision for the future.”
