Life may feel a bit more laid back in a beachy paradise like Ocean City, Maryland, but behind the scenes, the coastal MidAtlantic town is hard at work ensuring it remains an up-to-date destination that offers all the modern amenities and infrastructure business and leisure travelers alike are searching for.
Like many cities during the pandemic, Ocean City took advantage of empty guest rooms up and down its iconic Boardwalk and oceanfront, seeing the situation as an opportunity to upgrade its hotel offerings and welcome travelers back to a new and improved Ocean City.
“We’ve had a lot of properties go through renovations since Covid,” said Kim Mueller, Director of Sales for Ocean City, Maryland’s Department of Tourism. “A lot of the projects were interior-focused, and many hotels put millions of dollars into renovations.”
Hotels across the destination have reopened their doors and are ready to welcome travelers to a new era of Ocean City. Here are five newly renovated properties catering to groups meeting in Ocean City.

Hilton Garden Inn Ocean City Oceanfront
Reopened in May 2023 following months of renovations, Hilton Garden Inn Ocean City Oceanfront is one block away from the Ocean City Boardwalk and steps from the sandy shores of the Atlantic.
The 12-story property features 170 guest rooms, each with an ensuite balcony overlooking the ocean, and puts guests within one mile or less of the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, offering over 214,000 square feet of meeting space.
“It used to be the Dunes Manor, a very nostalgic property that was here for probably 40 years,” Mueller said. “It was taken over, totally gutted, and it’s absolutely beautiful. It’s a full-service property with oceanfront dining and meeting space.”
Hilton Garden Inn Ocean City Oceanfront offers 3,026 square feet of meeting space across four meeting rooms, the largest of which can host groups of up to 120.
Hilton Ocean City Oceanfront Suites
One block away from Hilton Garden Inn Ocean City Oceanfront is Hilton Ocean City Oceanfront Suites, another beachfront hotel just five blocks from the boardwalk and less than a mile from the convention center. This all-suites property just completed a comprehensive renovation of its common areas and Starbucks coffee bar in the main lobby, as well as guest accommodations and both onsite restaurants.
The 225-room property offers a heated indoor pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, game room and two seasonal outdoor pools overlooking the ocean. It also boasts 2,954 square feet of indoor meeting space across four rooms, the largest of which can hold 100 guests, and flexible outdoor function space is available.
“It’s a Four-Diamond property, and it’s currently closed as all of the common areas are being renovated and refurbished,” Mueller said. “All the restaurants have been updated. They updated the accommodations a couple of years ago and are now hitting everything else.”

Courtyard Ocean City Oceanfront
Conveniently located on 15th Street along Ocean City’s iconic boardwalk and waterfront, the Courtyard Ocean City Oceanfront hotel sits in the heart of all this MidAtlantic destination has to offer. The property is home to the Captain’s Table restaurant, an Ocean City favorite for more than 60 years that’s known locally for its South African lobster tail, whole lobsters and Certified Angus Beef steaks.
“All of their guest rooms and common areas were just updated, too,” Mueller said.
The 91-room property reopened at the end of February and features 2,020 square feet of meeting space across two meeting rooms that can accommodate groups up to 130.
Ashore Resort & Beach Club
Ashore Resort & Beach Club is a standout new addition to Ocean City’s hospitality scene, offering a fresh, upscale take on the classic beachfront experience. Following a complete top-to-bottom renovation, the resort delivers modern luxury across every touchpoint—from its refined guest rooms and suites (many with sweeping Atlantic views) to its stylish common areas and curated dining concepts.
Recently named No. 8 Best New Hotel in the Country by USA Today’s 2024 Best of the Year Awards, Ashore has quickly become a destination in its own right for both travelers and locals.
“Ashore has completely redefined what a resort stay in Ocean City can feel like,” Mueller said. “The thoughtful design, elevated dining, and relaxing coastal atmosphere make it ideal for meetings, events, or just a memorable beach escape.”
With 250 guest rooms, multiple waterfront restaurants, a beachside taproom and expansive event space, the resort is built to host. The property offers over 33,195 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting space, accommodating up to 1,000 guests for receptions or breakout sessions.

Hyatt Place Ocean City/Oceanfront
Another Ocean City Boardwalk property, Hyatt Place Ocean City/Oceanfront gives guests the opportunity to wake up to the sights and sounds of the Atlantic Ocean every morning.
The hotel is situated on 16th Street near popular eatery Franco’s Pizza and Bar and is just under two miles south of the Roland E. Powell Convention Center and the water slides and thrill rides at Jolly Roger Amusement Park.
“They just did a build and added 65 more rooms in an expansion. They’re beautiful studio suites,” Mueller said, referring to the Hyatt Place Ocean City west building located directly across the street from Hyatt Place Oceanfront. The property’s new City View Studio Suites are now available for stays May 16, 2025, and beyond.
The original Hyatt Place Oceanfront building sits directly on the iconic boardwalk overlooking the Atlantic and features 105 rooms and 1,567 square feet of meeting space that can accommodate up to 140 guests. Additional amenities include a fitness center, onsite restaurant, indoor and outdoor pools and more.
