MT LIVE! South: Neon Night at JW Marriott’s 10K Alley

In one corner of 10K Alley, the World’s Biggest Pac-Man arcade game tempts with its bleeping and flashing lights, while another section lures me in with its glow-in-the-dark mini-golf.

I opt for a glowing game of old-fashioned Skee-Ball, tortured by the dilemma whether to bank balls for a potential 10,000-point bucket or go for the safer shots for fewer points straight up the middle.

Prizes are at stake and I have my eyes set on a purple, feather-trimmed tiara.

Scanning the floor, another corner of 10K Alley plays host to golfers practicing their strokes with an immersive golfing simulator, bowlers tossing strikes on neon-hued 10-pin lanes, and VR aficionados donning headgear and oversized weapons pointing at what looks like thin air.

The “Neon Night” at 10K Alley was part of the Meetings Today LIVE! South 2018 event agenda, hosted at the JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort, where the property showed off its combination gastropub and gaming emporium to attendees. 10K Alley is located on the fifth floor of the hotel’s new Lanai Tower.

A circular bar dishes out gastropub fare, and a drinks menu is equally impressive, showcasing 50 Florida craft beers and barrel-aged bourbons including rare and limited production spirits.

Some of the bourbons were created exclusively for 10K Alley in a partnership between the JW Marriott Marco Island, Jack Daniels and Woodford Reserve.

JW Marriott Marco Island's 10K Alley is available for buyouts during special events like our Meetings Today LIVE! South soiree, large group gatherings and corporate meetings. Up to 125 people can participate in the activities and games at any given time, and 10K Alley’s overall capacity is 500 guests. The guest capacity can be increased through an overflow into the adjoining hospitality suites and the fifth-floor terrace.

The launch of 10K Alley is a spotlight event in JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort's $320 million renovation, which began in 2015 and included a new 94-room adult-exclusive tower with rooftop pool, award-winning chef-helmed restaurant in addition to the 12,000-square-foot entertainment center as well as a new grand front entrance, reimagined lobby, expanded pool decks, and additions to the property’s culinary offerings.

JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort also doubled its function space and now features over 120,000 square feet of indoor event space and 810 rooms and suites. Initially, 10K Alley will be reserved for resort guests and group bookings, and then the gaming and dining outlet will be opened to the public beginning early 2019.

The evening for our Meetings Today LIVE! South event concluded with attendees, myself included, cashing in their modest haul of tickets for esteemed prizes that ran anywhere from pixie sticks candy to my prized tiara.
