The Pueblo of Pojoaque plans to begin construction this month on a hotel, conference center and casino within is Buffalo Thunder Resort development here.
The Buffalo Thunder Resort is a 587-acre mixed-use complex that currently houses the Towa Golf Course, Homewood Suites by Hilton and the Wedding Chapel at Pojoaque.
The new project, slated for completion in September 2008, is expected to include the construction of a 390-room Hilton Santa Fe North, complete with a 66,000-square-foot conference center, a 16,000-square-foot spa, a fitness facility, and several restaurants and entertainment venues.
The project will also include the construction of a 151,000-square-foot casino, complete with 1,200 slot machines and 25 table games.
