Illinois
- Stephen Kime recently joined Swissotel Chicago as director of sales and marketing. Previously, Kime occupied a full range of key sales and marketing positions in luxury hotels across the country, including Hyatt Regency in Chicago; Adam’s Mark Hotels and Resorts in Chicago; Radisson Bay Harbor Inn in Tampa, Fla.; and Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts.
- Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants named Nabil Moubayed general manager and Denise Schultz director of sales and marketing at Hotel Palomar Chicago, set to open this spring. Moubayed most recently held the general manager position for more than five years at Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco Chicago. Most recently, Schultz served as the director of sales and marketing at the Radisson Plaza Hotel Minneapolis.
- Andrea J. Mayer was named general manager for the Hilton Garden Inn Chicago Downtown/Magnificent Mile. She joins the hotel from The Allerton Hotel Chicago, where she was the general manager.
- The Blackstone Hotel in Chicago appointed Ashley Sneddon director of catering. Sneddon joins The Blackstone from the Renaissance Chicago O’Hare Suites Hotel, where she spent the past two years as director of corporate and social events.
Indiana
- The Indianapolis CVA named two new sales managers in its Washington, D.C., office: Jennifer Haire and Kenneth Helmsley Jr. Haire comes to the ICVA from Freeman Audio Visual Solutions, where she was national sales manager for the greater D.C. Metro Area. Previously, Hemsley Jr. was with Visit Baltimore, serving as sales manager, group tour and international sales manager, director of tourism development and national sales manager.
- White Lodging of Merrillville appointed Scott Blalock to vice president and general manager of the JW Marriott Indianapolis, scheduled to open in 2011. Blalock came to White Lodging in 2006 after over 18 years of service with Marriott International, including his most recent position as general manager of the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown.
Nebraska
- The Magnolia Hotel Omaha named James M. Finnegan general manager. His background includes working for Bartell Hotels in San Diego for 11 years, serving in a general manager role for the Island Palms Hotel & Marina and the Best Western Bell Hotel.
