UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, awarded Direct Energy Centre here with its annual Operations Award.
Finalists were selected from venues across the globe which provided hands-on solutions to key industry issues in the fields of information technology and customer relations management.
Direct Energy Centre’s objective was to lower electrical consumption associated with operating exhibition facilities, thereby reducing the environmental footprint. The complex offers more than 1 million square feet of space, making it the largest exhibition and convention center in Canada.
An unprecedented tie for first place occurred, with Direct Energy Centre sharing top honors with Fira Barcelona.
UFI is the international association of tradeshow organizers and exhibition center operators, as well as the major national and international exhibition associations, and selected partners of the exhibition industry. UFI’s main goal is to represent, promote and support its members and the exhibition industry worldwide. UFI represents 539 member organizations in 82 countries around the world.
