The major casinos along the Las Vegas Strip lost $2.5 billion during fiscal 2010 in revenue from sources that include gaming, rooms and restaurants, according to a report from Nevada’s Gaming Control Board.
Although not good news, the amount was a 38.2 percent improvement over fiscal 2009 when the casinos posted a loss of $4.1 billion. It was the first time that the casinos suffered losses for two fiscal years in a row.
