PSAV Showcasing 'Paperless Meetings' at EIBTM
BARCELONA, Spain
Industry professionals attending the 2012 EIBTM convention in Barcelona next month will have the opportunity to learn how "Paperless Meetings" can lead to effective "green” events. PSAV will be at Stand N250, November 27 to 29, in the Technology Village at the Global Meetings & Events Exhibition, held at the Fira Gran Via, Montjuic 2 Exhibition Center.
PSAV is a global supplier of audiovisual services and event technologies to decision-makers responsible for organizing meetings, conferences, and events worldwide.
"Technology is proving to be a vital component of the meetings environment, and not just from an audiovisual perspective," said Robert Reed, a PSAV global sales manager. "Solutions have been developed to streamline content and presentation materials for speakers, provide real-time audience feedback to organizers, push content to attendees, and broadcast events across the country and the globe. Each of these tools cuts down on expense of printing brochures, speaker prospectuses, registration forms and surveys while simultaneously reducing each event's carbon footprint. Going paperless is the future, and environmentally-conscious planners are finding that PSAV is keen on supporting their efforts to be green."
As part of its Paperless Meetings package, PSAV offers:
Mobile Solutions (Using technology to replace the traditional use of paper and all associated costs)
The use of the iPad as screens to view streamed presentation slides for attendees in small and large meetings, to also include audience feedback (voting, survey's, question or comments).
Custom designed apps for meetings and events covering all platforms, to include schedules, way finding, speaker bios, and other information
Virtual Event Services (hybrid solutions for remote attendees, enabling participation whilst reducing travel cost)
• HD Video Conferencing
• Webcasting
• Web Conferencing
PSAV's High Definition Event Video Conferencing packages and webcasting products also are helping meeting planners stay green. The technology brings people together "remotely" from different locations around the world in real time to facilitate face-to-face interactions.
Audience Response Systems (real-time interactivity among presenters and attendees)
This technology allows facilitators to ask questions of the audience via mobile app on their smartphones, tablets or iPods and immediately display the results and shape session content around those responses. This eliminates use of printed surveys and saves considerable man hours tabulating results.
Content Management (Managing presentations and handouts in the cloud)
Mobile solutions (iPads, iPhones. iPods, Blackberry's and Android phones) replace traditional screens and projectors, portable monitors and bulky hand-held devices to share event messaging and interact one-on-one with audiences. Because the devices contain only data, they serve as the greenest content vehicle and delivery mechanism on the planet.
Before an event begins, PSAV's Content Management System is providing green benefits on the back end. Speakers submit their presentations via a Web portal link that can be established directly on a company’s conference home page. The CMS then collects the materials and stores it digitally in the cloud so the necessary parties can review it before they go live. Plus, previous paper-based poster sessions are now replaced with searchable abstract libraries via e-Poster computer stations.
