Detroit Casino Hopes to Bounce Back with Upgrades

DETROIT

According to its recently released annual earnings report, the Greektown Casino-Hotel lost close to $31 million last year, but apparently has optimism for a profitable future based on the massive upcoming renovations.

The property will invest $125 to $150 million, making sweeping improvements ranging from parking and interior layout to the addition of new slot machines. The project is slated to begin in the second half of 2014 and take up to two years for completion.

The casino-hotel boasts 400 guest rooms and suites, in addition to about 25,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
