Virginia Meetings Mecca Makes Sweeping Changes

ARLINGTON, Va.

Sheraton Crystal City recently announced it will undergo a $16 Million renovation to begin in April 2014, and that the property will be converted to The Westin Crystal City.

The $16 million dollar refurbishment will touch every aspect of this Arlington hotel to ensure guests will enjoy a whole new experience in the heart of the Crystal City. The renovation includes a complete rejuvenation to the hotel’s 218 guest rooms, lobby, 16,000 square feet of meeting facilities, and additional public spaces.

The guest rooms will feature the world-renowned Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Bath, enhanced with the Heavenly Shower, Heavenly Robe and exclusive White Tea Aloe bath amenities. Each guest room will include a 42-inch flat screen TV and large work space. The new lobby design will feature elegant lighting, a new sophisticated restaurant and bar concept, which will implement all the Westin brand signature services and amenities designed to inspire wellbeing.

The hotel renovation is projected to be completed within approximately four months. In order to expedite the restoration process, the hotel will close for business mid-April 2014 with an anticipated completion date of August 2014. The Westin Brand officials will be hosting a grand pre-opening ceremony in September 2014, inviting some of the Arlington hotel’s regular corporate clients, meeting planners, and association bosses from the Washington, D.C. area.

The Westin Crystal City is located adjacent to the Crystal City Metro Station with convenient access to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, featuring the Smithsonian Museum, National Monuments, as well as countless government agencies. Additionally, the hotel is located only one mile from the Ronald Reagan National Airport and offers complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport.
