Charlottesville Marriott Wraps Big Revamp

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.

Crestline Hotels & Resorts announces the completion of a major guest room update and renovation of the Courtyard by Marriott Charlottesville - University of Virginia Medical Center.

To complement the recent brand refresh of the hotel's lobby, the hotel’s 139 guest rooms, suites and hallways have been updated with all new soft goods and furniture.

Room Upgrades and Meeting Space

Guest rooms now feature new plush bedding, carpeting, wall coverings and draperies that include Courtyard's signature features such as functional work space, spacious bathrooms, a separate seating area and complimentary in-room high-speed Internet. In addition, each guest room now has a microwave and mini-fridge.

In keeping with guest preferences, the hotel's double-double rooms have been converted to queen-queen rooms providing more spacious bedding. Also new, in select king-bedded rooms there is a wet bar feature, and all suites and select king-bedded rooms now include a Keurig Coffee Maker with a variety of K-Cup™ options. Guests staying in suites will enjoy an iHome clock radio/dock.

The Courtyard Charlottesville is located at 1201 West Main Street, Charlottesville, Va. It is near the campus of the University of Virginia and within walking distance to the University Medical Center. For events and meetings there is a choice of three meeting rooms, totaling 1,900 square feet of space as well as banquet and catering services.

A New Lobby

The open, bright and contemporary Courtyard hotel lobby welcomes guests with vivid contrasting colors, including blue, green, orange and red.

The traditional front desk is replaced with separate welcome pedestals to create more personal and private interactions when guests check in and allow staff to show guests the lobby features and provide assistance. Adaptable seating options range from a communal table in the middle of the action, to more private media booths with high-definition televisions, to a more intimate, semi-enclosed lounge area.

Dining and Nearby Attractions

Dining has also been completely redesigned with The Bistro - Eat. Drink. Connect, offering casual, flexible seating; easier access to food and higher quality, healthier menu options for breakfast; and light evening fare, including snacks, cocktails, wine and beer so guests can unwind. Coffee lovers can also enjoy freshly brewed Starbucks coffee. The Market, a 24/7 shop for snacks, beverages and sundries, is always open for late-night cravings or the toothpaste guests may have forgotten to pack.

Leisure travelers will enjoy the short walk to the Historic Downtown Mall, considered one of the finest urban parks in the country, with 120 shops and 30 restaurants. The nearby Charlottesville Pavilion hosts a number of outside concerts throughout the spring through the fall. In addition, the hotel is a favorite for Cavalier fans and alumni.
