London Hilton Plans Major Changes

LONDON

Hilton Worldwide has announced plans to redevelop and reflag Hilton London Docklands Riverside as DoubleTree by Hilton London Docklands hotel.

The hotel will continue to operate under a Hilton Worldwide management agreement with owner H.I.G. Capital and joins 10 DoubleTree by Hilton hotels in Greater London.

The hotel will continue to welcome guests during the redevelopment, which is expected to be completed by the end of this calendar year, with the hotel operating under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand starting in Spring 2015. Planned upgrades include refurbishments of the hotel's 378 guest rooms, reception area, ferry entrance, 16 meeting rooms, Terrace Restaurant and Lounge Bar, kitchen and staff facilities.

Situated in a district that has seen robust renewal and investment in recent years and corresponding increases in accommodation demand, DoubleTree by Hilton London Docklands will aim to attract both corporate and leisure guests. The Canary Wharf business and shopping precinct, Olympic Park, Westfield Stratford City, ExCel exhibition centre, O2 Arena and London City Airport are all in close proximity. For guests wishing to visit central London, the hotel is also conveniently connected by rail and river transport networks.
