Virgin America, the airline known for reinventing domestic travel, today announces it will start flying from San Francisco to Honolulu, Oahu from November 2, 2015, and Kahului, Maui from December 3, 2015, with fares on sale as of today from $199 one way.
In honor of the new route, Virgin America is celebrating with a nationwide 'Now Serving Paradise' fare sale and a complimentary 'mai tai' toast for travelers at its home airport of SFO today. The new Hawaii flights are on sale now and can be purchased at virginamerica.com or 1-877-FLY-VIRGIN.
“We have been working together with Virgin America for more than five years to make these new flights and their entry into our market a reality,” said David Uchiyama, vp, brand management, for the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA).
Uchiyama added that the new flights will increase access to the Hawaiian Islands from both the core U.S. West and U.S. East markets through Virgin America's extensive nationwide flight network, and that the HTA projects that the flights will generate $138.6 million in visitor spending and $14.8 million in tax revenue for the state on an annual basis.
