Minnesota Casino Boosts Meeting Space

GRAND PORTAGE, Minn.

The Grand Portage Lodge and Casino announced it is undergoing a three-phase, multimillion-dollar renovation and expansion. The project includes enhancements to the hotel’s guest rooms, restaurant and lounge, alongside an expanded casino and event center, and a new lobby and pool.

The casino is located along the Lake Superior shoreline about 140 miles northeast of Duluth, Minn. According to the Duluth News Tribune renovations are expected to be finished by spring 2017.

Phase one of the project is nearing completion and includes 90 newly renovated rooms and five suites. Phase two will include a remodeling of the property’s entrance and other public area upgrades, which includes upgrades to the hotel’s restaurant and lounge, and a new pool, fitness area and outdoor patio.

The third and final phase of the project will increase the size of the banquet and meeting center to allow Grand Portage and Casino to easily host special events and meetings of up to 320 people.

The property plans to stay open during the entirety of the renovations.
