Las Vegas Airport Plans Big Expansion

LAS VEGAS

McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas revealed plans to double the number of international gates available in a $51 million project that would add seven total gates.

The gates would be added by way of a conversion of a link between the airport’s D concourse and one of its two terminals, and some of the new gates would we large enough for the larger Airbus A380 aircraft.

According to TravelMole.com and other sources, Rossi Ralenkotter, CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, said the authority is considering a program to attract airlift from Asia.

The project is expected to begin later this year and be finished by late 2016 or early 2017.
