CHICAGO
The Peninsula Chicago revealed the first set of redesigned rooms, as part of a $37 million renovation project still in progress. The 339-room hotel will finish the remainder of the rooms by early next year.
The upgraded rooms place an emphasis on technology, with phones that provide free, unlimited long-distance calling and desk tablets that can control lighting, temperature and the television.
In-room furniture has also been upgraded with a new built-in desk and vanity, and more. In addition, a new “Keys to the City” program offers free experiences, such as private kitchen tours.
The AAA Five Diamond, Forbes Five Star hotel is known as one of the more luxurious properties in Chicago and features an elegant 4,782-square-foot Grand Ballroom for receptions of up to 550.
