TYSONS CORNER, Va.
Cvent unveiled its annual lists of top meetings facilities in the U.S. and Europe, with two Nashville hotels securing the top slots for 2016 in the U.S. and Barcelona leading the European pack.
The cloud-based event management company compiles this information each year according to meeting and event booking activity through its Cvent Supplier Network, which features 240,000 venues.
Cvent also said it sourced more than $9.8 billion in meetings and events in 2015.
U.S. List Highlights:
Nashville holds the top two spots on this year’s list with representation from the Omni Nashville Hotel (80,000 square feet) and the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center (over 700,000 square feet).
Newcomers to the top 100 list include Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel, the Renaissance Washington, D.C. Downtown Hotel, and Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina, to name a few.
Major metropolitan areas that stand out among the rest with 10+ hotels making the list include Orlando with 14 hotels, and Chicago and Las Vegas both with 10 hotels.
Other major players include Phoenix/Scottsdale with eight hotels on the list, six of which rose in ranking from last year, and Dallas/Fort Worth with six hotels making this year’s list.

Europe List Highlights:
Barcelona (Spain) and the Prague (Czech Republic) came out on top in Europe with top properties including the Hotel Arts Barcelona, Hilton Prague and Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona.
Looking at the full line-up, London tops things off with seven featured properties, while Amsterdam and Barcelona trail closely behind, with a total of six properties each making the list.

Cvent evaluated hotel properties that generated business through the Cvent Supplier Network from January 2015 through December 2015. The properties were ranked according to various criteria, including total requests for proposals (RFPs), awarded RFPs, total room nights, awarded room nights, major metropolitan area (MMA) market share, conversion rate, and the hotel's unique profile visits in the Cvent Supplier Network. The criteria have been fine-tuned for accuracy over the years.

The Cvent Supplier Network contains listings of hotels and other venues in more than 175 countries that can be searched and filtered based on approximately 200 meetings and events attributes.
