Airports on High Alert After Brussels Attacks

BRUSSELS, Belgium

The global aviation industry is on high alert following multiple explosions at the main Brussels Airport and a subway station in the heart of the city. The explosions in Brussels have been identified as terrorist attacks that are reported to have killed at least 30 at the time of this news update, with more injuries also reported.

The Wall Street Journal wrote that the explosions have "renewed pressures on already security-minded travel" and The New York Times noted that "flights in and out of Brussels have been suspended and subway lines have been closed." In addition, the European Union Complex is reported to be in lockdown.
