TUCSON, Ariz.
Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort, the Tucson resort nestled at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains, is making strides on a multimillion-dollar renovation that will encompass all areas of the property.
Construction began in the fall and focused on bringing new indoor/outdoor amenities and uniquely Southwest experiences throughout the resort. Unveiled this spring, the redesigned main Desert Springs Oasis pool offers new poolside cabanas, a larger pool deck with additional sunning areas and several outdoor fire pits.
New outdoor courtyards with sprawling grass lawns and verdant, indigenous landscaping surround the main pool, creating a lush oasis-like setting. The renewed pool amenities complement an already robust offering of poolside fun for all ages, including a 143-foot water slide, waterfall-fed cold plunge, hot tub and Shallow Springs, a fish-shaped children’s splash pool with interactive water features.
Refreshed indoor/outdoor experiences continue into the lobby, where expansive sliding glass doors bring the outdoors in for an open-air experience with sweeping views overlooking the main pool and mountain views. Just outside, plush built-in lounge seating surrounds an expansive fire pit that serves as a new focal point of the lobby bar patio and is the perfect spot to catch Tucson’s stunning sunsets with a fireside cocktail.
“This renovation is the largest in the resort’s 34-year history and will be a significant chapter in the evolution of one of Tucson’s most iconic resorts,” said Ghee Alexander, general manager of Hilton Tucson El Conquistador. “Soon we will [also] be adding new guest experiences to highlight the culture, nature and history of Tucson.”
Hilton Tucson El Conquistador is recognized as the longest-running AAA Four Diamond resort in the state. Lush indigenous flora and fauna, native wildlife and dramatic views of Pusch Ridge surround the resort’s 428 guest rooms, including 139 village-style casitas, and five pools.
This spring, renovations will begin on the resort’s 428 guest rooms, lobby interiors and lobby bar. In coming months, new wildlife programming, unique garden concepts and a formal adventure and activity program will be announced. All renovations will be complete by spring of 2017.
The Hilton Tucson El Conquistador’s dynamic setting and 100,000 square feet of single-level, indoor and outdoor meeting space are available for all manner of meetings and events. From large conventions in the Turquoise Ballroom or Presidio Ballroom to a more intimate conference in the Coronado Ballroom, the resort also offers catering options, varied décor for many occasions and an award-winning audiovisual team.
