The Phoenix City Council approved a $950 million plan to expand Phoenix Sky Harbor International’s Terminal 4 in a 7-1 vote. The expansion will add an eight-gate concourse to Terminal 4 and extend Sky Train service.
According to a recent article in USA Today, the projects will be funded with existing passenger fees, other airport revenue and bonds. The upgrades, which are being made to improve service for travelers and airlines, reduce congestion at the airport and accommodate larger planes on the runway, will be completed by 2021.
