While there won’t be a gift exchange and no colorful eggs will be hidden, Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) is right around the corner! Want to know what you can do to promote the value of face-to-face meetings and network with key colleagues in the industry?
Mark down April 12, 2018, on your calendar, when meeting professionals will gather in destinations throughout the globe—from to Anaheim, Calif., to Zambia—for some camaraderie for a purpose.
Of course, Arizona had to be a little different—see its time zones and non-participation in Daylight Savings Time as an example—as Phoenix is holding its Arizona Tourism Advocacy Day on April 11, 2018.
In all, more than 120 events are being held across six continents, according to the Meetings Mean Business Coalition, which describes the event as an opportunity to “shine a light on the real impact meetings have on businesses, economies and communities.
"Meeting professionals organizations, association chapters, corporations, destinations, partners and other supporters will hold events in all around the world to support this international day of advocacy.”
For a full rundown, and to see how you can get even more involved in industry advocacy efforts, visit www.meetingsmeanbusiness.com/gmid.
And make sure to use the GMID hashtag, #GMID18, when the advocacy action starts.
Additionally, we live and breathe meetings year-round, so if you're busy on GMID, there's plenty of networking with colleagues and education to be had at our Meetings Today Live! events throughout 2018.
