Universal Orlando Resort is holding firm on its 10 percent commission rate in the wake of three major hotel companies cutting commissions to 7 percent for third-party meeting planners.
“Our relationships with third-party planners are extremely important to us. Universal Orlando Resort Meetings & Events has seen tremendous growth in recent years and we know that our strong relationship with the planner community has been a key part of driving that success,” said Vince LaRuffa, senior vice president of resort sales and marketing at Universal Orlando Resort. “This is why we continue to maintain a 10 percent commission rate at our Loews properties while also offering incentives for booking events at our theme parks.
"We know that planners work tirelessly to create memorable experiences; this is why we continuously strive to provide them with quality products and an unparalleled meetings and events destination," he added.
