Carrying on the Family Tradition
Working in the kitchen and coming from a close-knit Italian family, Chef Ryan knew early on that cooking was his life’s passion. His mother, a pastry chef at his restaurant, Fascino, set high standards for home cooking, and his grandmothers’ meals were legendary.

At the age of 25, Chef Ryan made a mark in the food world. His creative, family-owned, new Italian restaurant in Montclair, N.J., Fascino, received three-star reviews in the first six months it was open. The New York Times graced Fascino with an "Excellent" rating and raved that Chef Ryan was “born to run a restaurant.”
After New York Restaurant School, Chef Ryan worked at Bouley Bakery and Judson Grill, then travelled to Paris to work at the one-star Michelin restaurant, La Braserie. Chef Ryan's talent was recognized by the legendary Jean Georges Vongerichten, who hired him first at Vong and then the four-star restaurant Jean Georges.
